CAMPO
A creative colony in Garzón, Uruguay, supporting international artists through three programs: CAMPO AIR (artists in residence) CAMPO Canteen and CAMPO Artfest 2019.
In our second year of working with Heidi Lender, the founder of CAMPO, we designed and produced this intimate-sized, bilingual, 86-page booklet. (The booklet can be flipped over to read either the Spanish or English version.) Just like the previous year’s brochure, the book was designed to be memorable and a keepsake. Whether as a handout, or a leave-behind for potential fundraising, the booklet needed to be designed, written, and crafted so it would stand the test of time. The 5 x 5 inch brochure was finished with a sturdy beige chipboard cover, white cloth tape binding, and red foil stamping. The inside was printed as four colors on matte paper with large accessible typography to help the potential donor audience quickly understand Heidi’s vision, mission, and goals for each of the programs she created.
Even though the booklet is small in size, we think it’s a very special piece and feels very personal — almost like a journal. It showcases Heidi’s photography as well as her unique vision and voice. One can read about her journey to Garzón years ago and how later on that became her calling to create CAMPO.
Based in Garzón, Uruguay, CAMPO AIR, CANTEEN and ARTFEST are gaining significant traction in the Americas as well as Europe with the latest group of international artists recently finishing their residencies. Check out their work and personal journeys on Instagram @campoair !
